Our first year of back to school

Some of you may have noticed that I've been a little quiet around here lately. I know I've felt it. It's very strange not to have a new blog post up every few days. It's not something that I've ever struggled with because I really love sharing what I do. I always have a pretty picture of yarn, or a new project to share. This September, Rowan started attending daycare a few days a week. He absolutely loves it and is thriving in his new environment. The only downside at the moment is that we are all getting sick every week! Rowan has had his first ear infection and I have been battling cold and flu symptoms all month. I was really looking forward to seeing how life/work would change with a few days to focus exclusively on TFA while Rowan was at school, but I think we all have to build up our immune systems a bit more before we get really efficient in our new schedule.

One thing I have noticed this past month is just exactly how much work I was able to get done in the pre-daycare days with only a few hours a day to focus. Rowan takes one solid nap in the middle of the day and that was my main work time. Because I had to make the most of that nap, I was super efficient with the few hours I had. On days when he's at daycare I find myself spending a lot more time on Pinterest and Ravelry, checking my email every 15 minutes rather than twice a day, and just generally wasting so much more time. It's been an interesting lesson in time management. I think I need to find a way to balance the two working styles. If I come up with any brilliant time management tricks, I'll let you know!
