TFA Policy

Tanis Fiber Arts is a small family-run business. We work hard, and take a lot of pride in what we do.

Every skein is a labour of love. We dye all the yarn by hand in small batches of five to ten skeins at a time. We strive for perfection and consistency, but as with any hand made artisanal product, there are slight variations between skeins (even within the same batch). This is all part of the distinctive beauty of hand dyed yarn. Some skeins may have spots or speckles, this is what makes them truly one of a kind and are my favourite things, embrace the uniqueness!

If you are knitting a large project and want to ensure there will be no noticeable shifts in colour or tone between skeins, we recommend alternating between two skeins every couple of rows. Please try to purchase enough yarn to complete your project - though we do not have numbered dye lots, we always fill orders for multiple skeins with yarn from the same batch.

If you are not satisfied with your order for any reason please contact us. Unused yarn in it's original condition may be returned for an exchange or refund within 30 days of receiving your order. Shipping costs to return merchandise is the responsibility of the buyer. Typically, we do not accept returns on yarn that has been wound into a ball and/or knit with, but if you run into a problem while working with our yarn, please don't hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to resolve any issues. 

TFA Privacy Policy

All personal information (including e-mail addresses, shipping addresses and credit card details) required to place an order is kept strictly confidential and is used for billing and shipping purposes only, it will not be shared with any outside party. Tanisfiberarts.com is a secure encrypted website that encrypts your data for your peace of mind. 

TFA Delivery Method and Shipping Policy

Sometimes we have what we need to fill an order in stock, other times we’ll have to dye to order, either way all orders will be mailed within 2 weeks of receiving them, barring any unforeseen road blocks like holidays, illness or life getting in the way!

All orders are shipped with Canada Post. Orders shipped within Canada will have a tracking number. A confirmation email with the tracking number will be sent to you from Canada Post when your order is in the mail. Domestic orders are usually delivered within 1-5 business days of shipping.

For US orders under 1kg we use Small Packet Air mail, orders typically take 6-10 business days to arrive. Canada Post does not provide a tracking number for Small Packet Air Mail - if you would like your order to be traceable we can upgrade your shipping for a small fee. Anything weighing over 1kg will be sent Expedited and will include a tracking number.

International orders are shipped using Small Packet International Air and do not include a tracking number. Upgrading to a shipping method with tracking is almost always cost prohibitive and Canada Post is not able to provide satisfactory assistance when attempting to locate international packages that have left the country. Once an international order has been shipped, there is nothing that we are able to do as the sender to locate it or troubleshoot if there are any delivery issues. International orders are placed at the risk of the buyer.

If you are concerned that your package may be lost please contact me and I will do whatever I can to help, however please keep in mind that I have no control over a package once it has been shipped and am not responsible for any lost or delayed packages.
