Mood board Monday - Thinking outside the box

Image Sources, top to bottom, left to right: elbow patch, painting dye onto knit, dip dyed cardigan, embroidered shoulders,  cloud sweater,  zigzag shoulders.

Ok, so at first glance this might not be my most striking mood board. The images are all different and there isn't a clear theme, but wait! Give it another chance, this mood board is all about thinking outside the box and taking your knits to the next level. I know that I for one often suffer from "simple knits syndrome". I love super simple stockinette and garter stitch as much as the next gal, and often times those simple knits are just what the doctor ordered, but other times I really long to reach for the stars and take my FO's to the next level by adding extra detail even after I've cast off. Maybe add a little bit of embroidery or duplicate stitch to a finished garment, or how cool would it be to experiment with dyeing your knit AFTER you've knit your project? I am going to dip dye a sweater any day now. I'm actually seriously considering nominating my I Heart Aran pullover in Natural as the perfect knit for the job... I'll keep you posted!
