TFA Tuesday - Lilia's French Cancan

Pattern: French Cancan by Mademoiselle C.

Yarn: TFA Yellow Label DK Weight yarn in Lilac - 2 skeins.

Just look at that girl! My baby sister. Isn't she lovely? She's always had flawless skin and shiny straight hair. She's not wearing a lick of makeup in these photos. Not fair really. This week is a big one for Lilia. She has officially graduated from med school and has packed up and moved to Toronto to start her life as a real doctor. I'm so very proud of her, but at the same time I'm heartbroken that my best friend has moved away. I'm really going to miss her.

Four years ago I knit Lilia a Purple Punch Ombre Cardigan to thank her for helping me in my booth at the 2010 Knitter's Frolic. That weekend she found out that she had been excepted to Med School at McGill. Last fall we finally got around to taking official FO shots of her modelling her cardigan as well as the beautiful French Cancan she had knit for herself (she's a doctor and a knitter. The whole package! Sorry gents - she's taken.) Just look at how tiny Rowan is in that photo! I can't believe it. I wish that I could just freeze time and that Rowan would be a baby forever and Lilia would stay here and hang out with me every day.

Ah well. Such is life, our babies grow up and they leave us. Melodramatic sigh. At least I know that even though she's far away, she's equipped with knitting skills and plenty of TFA yarn to keep her company while she's spending her evenings missing me.

Purple is for Lilia what blue is for me. On the day that we took these photo's she was non-ironically rocking all three of these knits. That girl has style.
